A & J Plant Sales buy used plant, construction and agricultural machinery direct from the owners and businesses that run it, throughout mainland UK. There is no listing, no advertising and no waiting on a private buyer: you send us the details, we make you an offer, and if you accept it we collect the machine and pay you on collection.

What we buy

We buy across the range of plant, construction and agricultural machinery, including:

• Diggers and excavators, from mini diggers upwards
• Telehandlers and loading shovels
• Rollers, pedestrian and ride-on

• Tractors and agricultural machinery
• Forklifts
• Tippers, trucks and other plant vehicles

That list is not exhaustive. If your machine is not on it, tell us about it anyway: we would far rather look at it than have you assume we are not interested. Everything we buy is resold through our own yard, so our used machinery listings show the sort of thing that passes through it.

What your machine is worth

There is no formula. Two machines of the same make, model and year can be worth very different money, and it is the detail that moves the figure. The more of it you can give us, the sooner we can price the machine properly.

What helps us most:

• Make, model and year. The starting point for what the machine is.
• Hours, or mileage on a road vehicle. Usually the single biggest influence on what a used machine is worth.
• Condition. Whether it runs, what works, what does not, and anything that needs attention.
• Attachments and specification. Buckets, forks, hitches, cabs and trailers all count towards the figure.
• Service history, where you have it.
• Location. Where the machine is standing, so we can work out collection.
• Photographs. Several, in daylight, including the hour meter and anything damaged.

Send us that and we will come back to you within 24 hours with a valuation. Where something important is missing we will ask for it before pricing the machine, because a guess is no use to either of us.

2. We make you an offer. Free, and with no obligation to accept it.
3. We collect and pay. We arrange the collection, and payment is made on collection.

If you are replacing the machine rather than simply selling it, we can also look at taking it in part exchange against something from our own stock.

Machinery in any condition

We buy machines that run and machines that do not. There is no fixed age, hours, condition or value threshold: we look at each machine on its own merits and tell you honestly whether we are interested. A tired machine with a known fault is still worth asking about.

Where we collect from

We are based at Rillington in North Yorkshire and consider machinery throughout mainland UK. Distance on its own is rarely the obstacle; what matters is whether the purchase makes sense commercially, and we will tell you either way.
